Different, But Similarly Burdened

Different, But Similarly Burdened

Well, day three in France came and went. Today was a bit more laid back than the first two, so I was able to focus more on some of the small details that are contrary from back home, starting with our hotel itself. It has an electric gate with a keypad. There is a keypad at the door as well. The lights outside and in the lobby are all motion-activated, so there’s having to constantly … Read entire article »

New Sights, New Foods

New Sights, New Foods

After a day in France, my list of new experiences is steadily growing larger. Today, I started it off by going to the church where Simon’s father, Jean-Luc Terrien, pastors. He pastors an interracial, multicultural congregation with a large immigrant population.  It was a normal church service, just like back home; well, except for the language difference. We sang worship songs (in French), prayed (in French), and listened to a very good message (which was … Read entire article »

When in France…

When in France…

The city of lights. The language of love. The home of the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, and the Blue Danube. In short, France! And here in the midst of all of it is yours truly, soaking up its sights, sounds, and smells. But what am I doing here, you ask? I met with Mike on week 18, when he took me out to the Hiawassee River. … Read entire article »

Reminiscing On The Past

Well, it’s been over two months since I finished my last week in the 52 godly men experience. As I look back on the various weeks and good times that I had, I see that each one gave me a unique insight on knowing God, marriage, or just simply living life itself. I know I miss anticipating each week’s new visit, and the excitement and profoundness that it brings to my life as well. But still, even though I may not be getting the hands-on experience that each new adventure held, I’m learning about life in my everyday encounters with dilemmas, choices, and other people. When I was still in the midst of my journey, I thought that when I finally finished, I would feel more at ease and less rushed. … Read entire article »

Week 52: 4,000 Miles Across The Sea

Week 52: 4,000 Miles Across The Sea

As you probably know very well, this was my final week. And as the last person I would meet with in my journey, my dad wanted someone special for me to spend my day with. So he called his friend Donnie Stewart. Donnie is a long-time friend of ours, and even though it was a big commitment, he agreed to come and finish off my journey. Okay, you might say, so he spent a couple … Read entire article »
