When in France…

When in France…

The city of lights. The language of love. The home of the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, and the Blue Danube. In short, France! And here in the midst of all of it is yours truly, soaking up its sights, sounds, and smells. But what am I doing here, you ask? Well, let me start from the beginning of the story.         My Dad was asked to participate in a project overseas with another company, and he asked … Read entire article »

David and Dad Appear on Focus on the Family

David and Dad Appear on Focus on the Family

This afternoon, David and I had the opportunity to appear on Your Family Live, a production of Focus on the Family.  We were part of a special Father’s Day Weekend program.  The first half of the program highlighted issues related to pain people deal with in father-child relationships.  Near the end of the program, the host Yvette Maher interviewed us briefly as an example of a Dad who is trying to do things the right … Read entire article »

Joy Comes In The Morning

Joy Comes In The Morning

As many of you know, the tornado that just recently ravaged the southeast caused a lot of confusion and heartbreak. It took lives, destroyed houses, and gave people a different take on life. What many of you probably don’t know, however, is that one of the men that I met with, Mike Glasgow, was a major victim of the storm. When I was still in the midst of my journey, I thought that when I finally finished, I would feel more at ease and less rushed. … Read entire article »

Dad’s Reflections on 52 Godly Men

Dad’s Reflections on 52 Godly Men

A full year came and went, just like that. When I started the 52 Godly Men project with my son, all I could see was a big long list of names, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and calendar slots. Without doubt, it was a lot of work getting a full year scheduled for David. Now that it’s over, I’ve had some time to think and reflect on what this year meant for all … Read entire article »

Week 52: 4,000 Miles Across The Sea

Week 52: 4,000 Miles Across The Sea

As you probably know very well, this was my final week. And as the last person I would meet with in my journey, my dad wanted someone special for me to spend my day with. So he called his friend Donnie Stewart. Donnie is a long-time friend of ours, and even though it was a big commitment, he agreed to come and finish off my journey. Okay, you might say, so he spent a couple … Read entire article »
